JNE’s new solidifying agents convert toxic waste to recyclable material, leading to significant cost savings

August 2, 2017 — JNE Environmental was recently approached by a burgeoning waste hauling and water treatment facility to help solve a problem with a difficult liquid waste stream.

The facility was producing a liquid waste stream with a high concentration of dissolved nickel. Due to the toxicity of the nickel in the stream, the facility was spending thousands of dollars a year in disposal costs.  Introducing our new 3200 Series Super-Solidifying agents — a new, advanced treatment method that uses a super-absorbent technology to solidify and dewater soils, wastewaters, sludge, and slurries. These solidifying agents work by absorbing water and organic molecules from hard-to-handle liquid waste.

When applied to the facility’s toxic liquid stream, the nickel is absorbed into the agents’ stabilizing matrix, and the water is absorbed into the polymer. The resulting solution, a gelatinous solid, can be safely and cost-effectively recycled, leading to an estimated 400% cost-savings to the client.

Our 3200 Series agents can be used in a wide range of industries and wastes, including:

  • Soil processing, and remediation
  • Organics treatment
  • Wastewater treatment sludge
  • Agriculture
  • Water preservation and retention
  • Medical wastes
  • Spill control
  • Additionally, our 3200 Series agents are non-toxic and do not release harmful contents when frozen, thawed, or incinerated.
